Heather

Veterinary Assistant

Heather has worked in the veterinary field for over 28 years. She has been at Care Animal Center since 2006. She loves assisting in surgery and takes great pride in her nursing skills. Heather and her husband, Johnnie, live in Dothan along with their Dachshunds and Min Pin.



Amanda

Veterinary Assistant/Marketing

Amanda has worked in the veterinary field for over 13 years. She has been at Care Animal Center since 2015. Her love for animals is one of the many reasons she chose this career path. In her free time she loves DIY projects, music/theatre, playing with her 3 dogs & cat, and spending time with friends and family.



Hannah

Veterinary Assistant

Hannah has worked in the veterinary field for almost 2 years. She has been with Care Animal Center since 2021. She has a love for rescuing and fostering dogs, partnering with Troy Animal Rescue, and has had up to 25 at one time. If she’s not loving and playing with her fosters, you can find her spending time with her husband and their baby girl who was born Oct. 2023, 8 personal dogs, enjoying the outdoors, attending her church and taking pictures of all species of animals. Hannah has completed her Bachelor degree in Pre-Veterinary Science and still continues her education in Veterinary Degree.



Hallie

Veterinary Assistant

Hallie is a dedicated veterinary technician with experience since 2017. She joined the Care team in June 2022. Passionate about the wellbeing of animals, she discovered her calling at a young age and has thrived in the fast-paced veterinary environment. Hallie is committed to advocating for the health and happiness of her patients; speaking up for those who cannot speak for themselves. In her free time, she enjoys spending quality moments with her family, indulging in the art of crafting, and spending quality time with her 2 dogs and 2 cats. 


Grace

Veterinary Assistant

Grace has worked in the veterinary field since 2017. She has been with Care Animal Center since 2021. She made the transition from emergency/surgery to the general practice field. Grace and her husband live in Ashford, along with their son, horses, dogs and cats.  During her free time, she enjoys horse back riding, camping, and spending time with family. 


Allison

Veterinary Assistant

Allison has worked with animals since 2018. She has been with Care Animal Center since October 2022. She has a passion for animals, and an advocate for rescues/shelters in the surrounding area. She has 4 dogs and 1 cat of her own, 3 of which were rescues. In her free time, Allison loves to spend time with her family, including her husband and 4 children. 



Chrissy

Veterinary Assistant

Chrissy has been in the veterinary field for close to 20 years. She joined the Care team in January 2023. Originally from Georgia, she came back to the Wiregrass area after relocating from New Jersey. She has had a love of dogs since her first dog, Bob, whom she trained in agility while a teen. Chrissy currently lives in Ozark with her husband, daughter, 8 French Bulldogs, a Staffordshire Terrier, 2 Pugs, 12 cats (including 2 sphynx), 2 goats, and a Bearded dragon. Chrissy loves emergency medicine and surgery.



Jenny

Veterinary Technician

Jenny has been in the veterinary field for over 20 years. She has worked with Care Animal Center since 2010. She has 3 dogs, 3 chickens, and 1 cat. Jenny has graduated with a Bachelor's degree in studies of Anthropology, Biology and Psychology at Troy University. In her spare time, she enjoys reading, writing and being outdoors.


Ciara

Veterinary Assistant

Ciara has been with Care Animal since August 2023. Originally from Illinois, this is Ciara's first job in the animal field and is now hoping to pursue being a Veterinary Technician. She has one Catahoula named Callie. 


Michelle

Client relations/ Office Manager

Michelle has worked in the veterinary field for over 13 years. She has been with Care Animal Center since 2009 and has a degree in accounting. She is known for keeping the front office girls in line, getting things “done” and loves to work day-to-day projects that is thrown at her. She loves interacting with clients and most of all “puppies!” Michelle most of all enjoys motherhood with her 2 boys and spending time with her family, friends and her dog, Saint.



Alex

Client Relations

Alex has been with Care Animal Center since December 2021. Prior to working at Care, she worked with our local Wiregrass Humane Society(WHS) for 1 year. Alex moved to Alabama back in 2020. In 2018 Alex received her certification as a Veterinary Assistant. While working with WHS her love for helping animals grew. When she’s not at work, she’s at home hanging with her family and her own 2 dogs, Mac and Marlie Kate. 



Allie

Client Relations

Allie has worked in the veterinary field for 10 years. She has been with Care since November of 2023. The ever changing speed of veterinary medicine is what attracts her to this line of work. She loves to learn new things and enjoys the fact that every day is different. Her favorite part of being at Care is spending time with clients and educating them about their pet whenever possible. Allie is from Headland, AL, and shares her home with 1 cat, Nickel, and 3 dogs; Bella Trix, Silas Kane and Gumbo Roux. When she is not working, she enjoys snuggling and watching Netflix with her fur babies. 


Melody

Client Relations

Melody joined the Care Animal Center team May 2024 after retiring from a 27-year career with Dothan City Schools.  As a client of Care Animal Center since 1999, Melody knew the Care family and their value of excellence in pet care.  She and her husband, Wayne Peacock, live in Columbia with their daughter, Makala, two dogs, Reese and Oreo, one cat, Liv, and two fish, Luna and Duck.  Melody and her husband enjoy working with the student ministry at First Baptist Church Columbia.  Melody strives to serve the clients with respect, understanding, and excellence.  


Kayla

Client Relations

Kayla has been with Care Animal Center since July 2024. She has volunteered at the Animal Shelter as a teen, and even worked at a local groomers before joining the team at Care. As Kayla has worked with animals throughout the years, her love for them has grown more and more with every day. Kayla plans to enroll in school to become a Certified Veterinary Technician, and possibly continuing to become a Veterinarian. She lives in Cottonwood with her fiance, 2 children, 3 dogs and 2 cats (with the number of pets most likely to increase at any time). 


Mike

Practice Manager/ Client Relations


Mike joined Care Animal Center team in May, 2021, as our Practice Manager following a 40-year career in hospital operations administration. Mike views his role as “helping to enable each member of our team to be successful in their job…if I am able to that, then Care Animal Center will be able to continue it’s long tradition of providing excellent care and service to pet lovers in our community.”

Mike and his wife Twyla are the proud parents of 2 children, Ryan and Haley (Haley is the current girls soccer and girls flag football coach at Dothan High School); proud grandparents of 3 grandsons, Wells, Harris, and Lucas; and the proud parents of Taco (Haley’s rescue dog)!



Brianna

Animal Caretaker

Brianna has been with Care Animal Center since 2022. She first started volunteering in January and then joined our working team in May. She has always wanted to work with animals and started working with horses and livestock at the age of 9 until she graduated high school in 2020. Brianna then went to college for Pre Vet Tech and now attending Vet Tech school in hopes to be an Equine Vet. When she is not working she is spending time with her 5 dogs (Casper, Ariel, Mabel, Simba and Naala) and studying.



Madison

Animal Caretaker

Madison has been with Care Animal Center since April 2023. Her passion for animals cultivated at a very young age. She grew up with pets of her own and was always willing to help take care of other animals. Madison got her first official animal caretaking job at SOS Animal Shelter in Enterprise, where she eventually took an assistant manager position. From there, she worked at Wags and Whiskers of the Wiregrass as a daycare attendant and eventually kennel technician supervisor. She hopes to continue to learn and grow through her work with animals at Care. In Madison's free time, she enjoys hanging out with her husband Josh and their fur babies, Chester and Scooby.

Animal Caretaker

Maggie has been with Care Animal Center since November of 2023. She is a junior at Rehobeth High School and plans to attend Auburn University to become a Veterinarian. In her free time, she enjoys time with her 4 dogs: Sonny and Sonia (Golden Retrievers), Louie (Pug), and Chloe (Shorkie).
